Broadcast video support code for LVDS interface SDI SerDes
BROADCAST_VIDEO_SERDES_IP
Overview
We have developed a family of serializers and deserializers intended to support the serial digital interface (SDI) standards of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE). These devices connect to a host FPGA through a moderate speed, moderate width (600 Mbps, 5 bits wide) port, saving the high-cost, high-speed FPGA resources. The complete function is accomplished through a combination of our peripheral IC and the IP in the FPGA. To help with the rapid development of systems incorporating these components, we have also developed two evaluation modules (EVMs): the SDXILEVK has an EXP interface port and connects to Xilinx development platforms, and the SDALTEVK has an HSMC port and will connect to Altera development systems. We provide both example applications running on these platforms and a library of source code functions that can be used to develop specialized applications.
