Environmental sustainability
Our programs and goals are focused on conserving natural resources, reducing consumption, and mitigating environmental impact.
Creating a sustainable future
We take pride in our commitment to being a good corporate citizen, with a long-standing commitment to responsible, sustainable manufacturing that includes programs and goals focused on conserving natural resources, reducing consumption, and mitigating environmental impact.
Environmental commitments
Guided by multi-year goals, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact, and invests in hundreds of projects every year aimed at reducing energy, material and water consumption, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. These include using advanced manufacturing tools and technologies; signing multiyear solar and wind power contracts to deliver renewable electricity in Texas; and installing a solar roof at our site in Bangalore, India.
Key environmental sustainability focus areas
GHG emissions reduction
We set greenhouse gas (GHG) emission goals to reduce environmental impacts and improve efficiencies. By 2025, TI aims to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 25% (vs 2015 base year).
Renewable electricity by 2030
We are expanding our use of electricity from renewable sources. Our 300mm wafer fabs will be entirely powered by renewable electricity by 2025, with additional milestones to reach 100% in the U.S. by 2027, and 100% worldwide by 2030.
Water conservation
We have a particular focus on using water responsibly and efficiently. In 2023, we implemented water reduction projects that saved an annualized amount of water equal to 4.1% of our 2022 usage.
Waste and material management
We responsibly manage the use and disposal of materials and chemicals to protect the environment and reduce landfill waste. TI aims to divert 90% of materials from landfills to reduce environmental impacts.
Powering sustainable technology
We are fortunate to work on exciting technology that helps our customers innovate to create a better world. Our semiconductor products are powering innovation around the world, such as electric vehicles and renewable energy applications, and helping to make a positive impact in a growing number of ways.
Analog and embedded processing products are enabling electrification through smarter, reliable and more accessible solar, energy storage and electric-vehicle charging systems.
