Choosing the right proximity sensing technologies for your application

More and more end equipments use proximity sensors to detect the presence of nearby objects without physical contact by using electromagnetic fields, light or sound. There are many types, each suited to specific applications and environments. The object being sensed is often referred to as the proximity sensor's target. Different proximity sensor targets use different sensors. Analyzing the principle of different sensors, comparison result with pros and cons can be achieved.
