9.5.3.1 Status byte (STATUS)

The status byte contains information on the operating state of the ADC. The STATUS byte is included with the conversion data by enabling bit STATENB of register MODE3. Optionally, read the STATUS register directly to read status information without the need to read conversion data. See Figure 42 for details.
