SBASAM0A March 2024 – June 2024 ADS127L18
ADVANCE INFORMATION
The ADS127L14 (quad) and ADS127L18 (octal) are 24-bit, delta-sigma (ΔΣ), analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) based on the single-channel ADS127L11. The devices provide simultaneous sampling of four or eight channels with data rates up to 512kSPS (wideband filter mode) and 1365kSPS (low-latency filter mode).
Precharge buffers on each input channel reduce sampling glitches for simplified driver design. The low-drift modulator achieves excellent dc precision with low in-band noise and high linearity for outstanding ac performance. Selectable operating modes allow for optimization of speed, resolution and power.
The wideband and low-latency filters optimize ac-signal performance or dc-signal data throughput, all from one device. Programmable OSR optimizes in-band noise versus signal bandwidth. The linear-phase wideband filter provides a usable bandwidth of 80% of the Nyquist frequency with ±0.0004dB pass-band ripple. The low-latency filter provides 18.2 bits effective resolution with 4.27us latency.
The ADS127L1x is programmed by pin connections, eliminating the need for configuration software, or is programmed by a dedicated SPI port. An independent frame-sync data port with CRC verification provides the conversion data. The time division multiplexing (TDM) mode serializes the channel data to reduce the DOUT pins.
A cross-channel averaging mode creates high resolution data from the original channel data.
The 7mm × 7mm VQFN package is designed for space-limited applications. The ADS127L1x is fully specified for operation over the –40°C to +125°C temperature range.
