The STANDBY command places the ADC in a low-power standby mode, halting conversions. The digital interface remains powered, allowing all registers to retain the previous states. When in standby mode, writing and reading from registers is possible and any programmable bits that activate circuitry take effect in the device after the WAKEUP command is issued. The command status response following a STANDBY command is 0022h. In standby mode, the command status response is dependent on the user command that is sent. All ADC channels must be disabled by writing to the ADC_ENA register prior to entering standby mode to reduce current consumption. An example for the response to the STANDBY command and behavior when in standby mode is shown in Figure 70.
