The ADS8686S outputs 16 bits of conversion data in binary twos complement format for all ranges. The designed code transitions occur midway between successive integer LSB values (that is, 1/2 LSB and 3/2 LSB). The LSB size is the full-scale range ÷ 65,536 for the ADS8686S. Figure 7-10 and Table 7-4 show the ideal transfer characteristics for the ADS8686S. The LSB size is dependent on the analog input range selected.
