4.3 Signal Descriptions

Many signals are available on multiple pins, according to the software configuration of the pin multiplexing options.

Texas Instruments has developed an application called Pin Mux Utility that helps a system designer select the appropriate pin-multiplexing configuration for their device-based product design. The Pin Mux Utility provides a way to select valid IOSETs of specific peripheral interfaces to ensure the pin multiplexing configuration selected for a design only uses valid IOSETs supported by the device.


  1. SIGNAL NAME: The name of the signal passing through the pin.
  2. DESCRIPTION: Description of the signal
  3. TYPE: Signal direction and type:
    • I = Input
    • O = Output
    • IO = Input or output
    • D = Open Drain
    • DS = Differential
    • A = Analog
    • PWR = Power
    • GND = Ground
  4. BALL: Associated ball(s) bottom
