After an initial startup blanking period, BQ25628 monitors the PMID voltage during boost OTG mode to ensure that PMID voltage remains sufficiently above VSYS to maintain the minimum duty cycle. If VPMID falls below VBOOST_DUTY (105% VSYS typical), the converter stops and enters hiccup mode.
If the boost converter cannot recover from hiccup mode, EN_OTG bit is cleared and the device exits boost mode. The host may attempt to restart boost OTG mode by setting EN_OTG = 1.
