Current Sense Programming (CSP1, CSP2, CSN1, CSN2)

The peak current limit for each phase is set by the sense resistors RSNS1 and RSNS2. The positive peak current limit for phase 1 is active when CSP1 − CSN1 reaches the threshold VCLTH (typical 60mV), for phase 2 CSP2 − CSN2. The negative peak current limit is active when VNCLTH (typical −30mV) is reached. R1, R2, R4, R5 are 0Ω and R3, R6 are open.

Equation 8. R S N S = I p e a k _ l i m V C L T H

The peak limit can be programmed by adding the resistors R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6. Resistor R1 and R2 must have the same value as well as resistor R4 and R5. The resistors must be < 1Ω because the CSx Amplifiers are supplied by the CSPx pins. R3 and R6 must be between 1Ω and 20Ω.

Equation 9. Ipeak_lim_ph1=R1+R2R3+1×VCLTHRSNS1
Equation 10. I p e a k _ l i m _ p h 2 = R 4 + R 5 R 6 + 1 × V C L T H R S N S 2
