For extended minimum input voltage, LM5190 enters the low dropout (LDO) mode if the required duty cycle is greater than the maximum duty cycle that is limited by the minimum off time. During the LDO mode, the LM5190 extends the on-time pulse until the PWM latch is reset by the current sense ramp exceeding the controller compensation voltage. The LM5190 skips up to 15 tOFF cycles to allow the controller to extend the duty cycle. Figure 6-1 shows the normal PWM mode to LDO mode transition.
