Figure 7-1 shows a 16-bit, simultaneous-sampling data-acquisition system. This example is typical in industrial applications that require sampling simultaneous signals such as optical modules, analog input modules, and motor drive circuits for position feedback. The circuit uses eight fully differential amplifiers (FDAs), a 16-bit, 3-MSPS successive-approximation-resistor (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC), along with a two differential precision multiplexers.
