8.3.5 Maximum Duty Cycle Limit

The TPS50301-HT can operate at duty cycle per Equation 2 and Equation 3 as long as the boot capacitor voltage is higher than the preset BOOT-PH UVLO threshold, which is typically 2.2 V.

Duty cycle can be calculated based on Equation 2.

  • RTesr = Rdcr + Rtrace
  • Rdcr is the dc resistance of the inductor.
  • Rtrace is the dc trace resistance (miscellaneous drop).
  • Rds_high is the maximum RDS of the high-side MOSFET.
  • Rds_low is the maximum RDS of the low-side MOSFET.
