SLVSDM6C October 2016 – August 2021 TPS65983B
PRODUCTION DATA
The TPS65983B features two I2C slave ports that can be used simultaneously, where the system controller has the ability to write to either of the I2C slave ports. Each I2C port has an I2C interrupt that will inform the system controller that a change has happened in the system. This allows the system controller to dynamically budget power and reconfigures the capabilities of a port dependent on current state of the system. For example, if a battery power contract is established and the system is running low on battery power the system controller could notify the TPS65983B to renegotiate a power contract. The system controller is also used for updating the TPS65983B firmware over I2C, where the Operating System will be able to load the Firmware update to the system controller and then the system controller would be able to update firmware update though I2C.
