Output Undervoltage Protection

The output voltage under voltage protection is based on the FBVDD and FBVEE pin voltages. When the FBVDD pin voltage becomes lower than its UVP threshold VVDD_UVP_FALL, or the FBVEE pin voltage becomes lower than its UVP threshold VVEE_UVP_FALL, the undervoltage protection is activated. The UCC14140-Q1 stops switching, and the PG pin becomes open.

During soft start, the output voltages rise from zero. Both FBVDD and FBVEE pin voltage are below the UVP thresholds. The UVP is disabled during the soft start. If the pin voltage cannot reach the UVP recovery thresholds (VVDD_UVP_RISE, VVEE_UVP_RISE) after the soft start completes, undervoltage protection is activated. The UCC14140-Q1 stops switching, and the PG pin becomes open.

The undervoltage protection has a latched-off response. After it is activated, the latch-off state can be cleared by recycling VVIN. Toggling ENA pin can also reset the latch-off state. Refer to ENA and PG section for details.
