The RESET pin is an active low input. The ADC is reset by taking RESET low then back high. Because the RESET pin has an internal 20-kΩ pullup resistor, RESET can be left unconnected if not used. The RESET pin is a Schmitt-triggered input designed to reduce noise sensitivity. See Figure 6-3 for RESET pin timing and for the start of SPI communications after reset. Because the ADC performs an automatic reset at power-on, a reset is not required after device power-on.
