10.3.9 Current Limit and Short Circuit Protection

For maximum versatility, the TPS2585x-Q1 includes both a precision, programmable current limit as well cycle-by-cycle current limit to protect the USB port from extreme overload conditions. The RILIM resistor determines the overload threshold on the USB ports in the event ILIM is shorted to ground to set the default USB current limit. The cycle-by-cycle current limit serves as a backup means of protection.
