Section 7.6.31 is used to trim the gain of the output current reported by the READ_IOUT command. The value is a unitless gain factor applied to the internally sensed current measurement. This unitless gain factor results in Section 7.6.31 having an inverse effect on Section 7.6.65 that the standard mΩ unit for PMBus. It defaults to a value of 1.

Changing Section 7.6.31 will adjust the overcurrent setting programmed by Section 7.6.39 or Section 7.6.41 according to the new value of Section 7.6.31.
Attempts to write (38h) IOUT_CAL_GAIN to any value outside those specified as valid will be considered invalid/unsupported data and cause the TPS546A24A to respond by flagging the appropriate status bits and notifying the host according to the PMBus 1.3.1 Part II specification section 10.9.3.
Command Resolution and NVM Store/Restore Behavior
The (38h) IOUT_CAL_GAIN command is implemented using the TPS546A24A internal telemetry system. As a result, the value of this command can be programmed with very high resolution using the linear format. However, the TPS546A24A provides only limited NVM-backed options for this command. Following a power-cycle or NVM Store/Restore operation, the value will be rounded to the nearest 1/64 with a maximum supported value of 1.984 (1 63/64).
