8.2.2.7 Bootstrap Capacitor Selection

A ceramic capacitor with a value of 0.1 μF must be connected between the BOOT and SW pins for proper operation. TI recommends using a ceramic capacitor with X5R or better grade dielectric with a voltage rating of 25 V or higher. Lower voltage rating capacitors may be used as long as the capacitance is greater than 0.08 µF after AC and DC bias derating.
