Designing PWM Input Filter

It is recommended that users avoid shaping the signals to the gate driver in an attempt to slow down (or delay) the signal at the output. However, a small input RIN-CIN filter can be used to filter out the ringing introduced by non-ideal layout or long PCB traces.

Such a filter should use an RIN in the range of 0 Ω to100 Ω and a CIN between 10 pF and 100 pF. In the example, an RIN = 51 Ω and a CIN = 33 pF are selected, with a corner frequency of approximately 100 MHz.

When selecting these components, it is important to pay attention to the trade-off between good noise immunity and propagation delay.
