9.3.3.4 PP_5V0 Current Limit

The current through PP_5V0 to VBUS is limited to ILIMPP5V and is controlled automatically by the digital core. When the current exceeds ILIMPP5V, the current-limit circuit activates. Depending on the severity of the over-current condition, the transient response will react in one of two ways: Figure 9-13 and Figure 9-14 show the approximate response time and clamping characteristics of the circuit for a hard short while Figure 9-15 shows the shows the approximate response time and clamping characteristics for a soft short with a load of 2 Ω.
