8.2.2.4 PAON External Circuit

During start-up, the AFE20408 PAON is Hi-Z until all power supplies are established. When operating in push-pull mode, a pull-down resistor to ground is recommended to keep the PAON output from floating. When operating in open-drain mode, the PAON output is to be isolated from the pullup resistor to VDD, until all power has been applied. Figure 8-8 shows a dual NMOS circuit that grounds the PAON output until both VDD and VIO are powered to an operating voltage, after which the PAON output operates as a pullup to VDD.
