I2C based serial interface can be used for speed control by setting SPD_CTRL_MODE to 10b. In this mode, the duty command can be written directly into SPEED_CTRL. If SPEED pin input is < VEN_SL for a time longer than SLEEP_TIME and SPEED_CTRL is set to zero, MCT8316A-Q1 enters sleep state. When SPEED pin > VEX_SL, MCT8316A-Q1 exits sleep state and speed is controlled through SPEED_CTRL. If SPEED_CTRL is set to zero and SPEED pin > VEX_SL, MCT8316A-Q1 is in standby state.
