A programmable delay time is available to delay the start of the first conversion cycle when the START pin or START bit are asserted. This delay time allows for settling of external components, such as the voltage reference after exiting standby mode, or for additional settling time when switching the signal through an external multiplexer. After the initial delay time, subsequent conversions are not delayed. The programmable delay value adds time to the latency time value of the digital filter.
