Introduction

This user’s guide describes the characteristics, operation, and use of the TMCS-A-Adapter evaluation module (EVM). This EVM is designed to evaluate the performance of TMCS voltage output isolated Hall-effect current sense amplifiers in the DVG, DVF, and DZP Packages. Throughout this document, the terms evaluation board, evaluation module, and EVM are synonymous with the TMCS-A-ADAPTER-EVM. This document includes a schematic, reference printed-circuit board (PCB) layouts, and a complete bill of materials (BOM).

The TMCS Hall-effect current sense amplifiers (also called an isolated current-sense amplifier) sense magnetic flux generated from current passing through the device lead frame. TMCS devices utilize isolation at common-mode voltages independent of the supply voltage. Devices are available with the common zero-input reference point configurations of 2.5V (A), 1.65V (B), and 0.33V (C), with various fixed sensitivities available.
