The AESADV accelerator module performs encryption and decryption of 128-bit data blocks with a 128-bit or 256-bit key in hardware according to the advanced encryption standard (AES). AES is a symmetric-key block cipher algorithm specified in FIPS PUB 197.
The AESADV accelerator features include:
A high level block diagram of the AESADV engine is shown in Figure 24-1. The AESADV engine consists of a processing core that performs both encryption/decryption as well as Galois field multiplication. The core is driven with configuration and data inputs that software will configure via memory mapped registers.
