A.2.2 MFB Simplification 2: Set Filter Components as Ratios and Gain = –1

Letting R 2 = R , R 3 = m R , C 1 = C , C 2 = n C , and K = - 1 results in F S F × f c = 1 2 πRC m n and Q = m n 1 + 2 m . This sets the gain to 0 dB in the pass band. Start the design by determining the ratios m and n for the required Q of the filter, and then selecting C and calculating R to set f c .
