As described in Section 2.3, driving an LRA at resonance is extremely important. This can be achieved by manually characterizing the actuator and then generating a signal with fixed frequency in an open-loop configuration. However, since the resonance frequency can shift and also due to part-to-part variations, a closed-loop system that tracks the resonance of the LRA (such as TI's DRV2603, DRV2604, DRV2605, DRV2605L, DRV2624 and DRV2625 devices) is the preferred solution for LRA implementations.
