3.1 EVM Power Supply

The HDC3020EVM power is supplied through the USB connector. The interface is used to access the device’s registers and read the conversion data from the HDC3020 through the I2C communication protocol. The LDO (U4) converts the 5 V from the USB to 3.3 V used by the HDC3020 and the MSP430. The EVM can be directly inserted into a USB port on a PC or laptop, or connected to the latter using the appropriate USB cable.
