CI Test Setup

  • DUT and LP need to be on an insulating surface, 10cm above earth ground
  • The CDN needs to have 0.1 - 0.3m separation to the DUT and LP
  • Cable needs to be 30-50mm above earth ground
  • CDN needs to match corresponding cable types
  • Attenuator between the test equipment and CDN
    • Verify the cable before the attenuator does not have any contact with the system such as DUT, LP, Ethernet cable, cable after attenuator. This can result in high amplitude noise direct injected into the system without attenuation

Note:
  • Further details on the CI test setup and waveform and test setup can be found in the IEC 41000 4-6 standard.
  • Capacitive clamping is also allow for CI testing if CDN is not available.
