7.1 Auto White Balance

Analyzes VISS H3A output and computes color gains for the ambient lighting conditions. Communicates the color gains and estimates color temperature to OpenVX VISS node, which in turn:

  • Writes the color gains to appropriate MMRs.
  • Uses the color temperature to select the appropriate CCM for color tuning.

Some sensors (AR0233) support a special mode where AWB gains are written to the sensor pre-HDR merge. This results in lower motion artifacts. This mode can be enabled in the sensor driver’s AR0233_GetWBPrgFxn API. By default, it is OFF, for example, AWB gains are applied in VISS.
