6.3.3 Controller (CTRL) and Estimator (EST) State Machine Dependencies

The controller state machine governs the estimator state machine. In fact, all of the estimator state transitions happen only when the controller state is Online. To illustrate this, consider the following simplified controller state machine (Figure 7-6), with a magnified online state showing the entire state machine of the estimator inside of it.
