Rules:
- RX L2 Filter (Type 3) attributes can only get updated when the filter is not active.
- RX L2 Filter (Type 3) must start on Byte 13 or later
Note: The MII_G_RT_FT3_0_START_PRUn[14-0] FT3_START bit field of “0” contains 1st Byte after preamble
Operation:
- RX L2 Filter (Type 3) will have 16 compare functions active concurrently
- This RX L2 Filter (Type 3) has no dependencies or interaction with RX L2 Filter Type1
- Each of the 16 RX L2 filters (Type 3) have unque start values. See registers MII_G_RT_FT3_0_START_PRU0/1 to MII_G_RT_FT3_15_START_PRU0/1.
RX L2 Filter (Type 3) can start operation on Byte 13 or Byte 17:
- The RX L2 Filter (Type 3) can start operation on Byte 13, if Byte 14 and Byte 13 (16-bit field) are different than value of 0x8100 (this is Tag Protocol Identifier (TPID) IEEE 802.1Q-tagged frame)
- The RX L2 Filter (Type 3) can start operation on Byte 17, if Byte 14 and Byte 13 (16-bit field) are equal to value of 0x8100 in order to identify the frame as IEEE 802.1Q-tagged frame (this is Tag Protocol Identifier (TPID) IEEE 802.1Q-tagged frame)
