The CAN module provides several test modes that are mainly intended for self-test purposes. Figure 28-3 aids in understanding the various test modes. Figure 28-3 must be viewed as representative of the module behavior, and not as a gate-accurate implementation of the module. Figure 28-3 does not include the GPIO muxing or the I/O buffers.
For all test modes, the Test bit in the CAN control register needs to be set to 1 to enable write access to the CAN_TEST register.
