Description

For achieving energy efficiency, ceiling fans and ventilation fans are moving from simple AC induction motors to brushless DC (BLDC) motors. This reference design meets these challenges of higher efficiency and power factor in a simple way by using a universal main power supply input from 85—265VAC with a single stage power factor corrected isolated flyback to convert offline voltages, and can reach up to 0.92pF in 24VDC. The design also combines a fully integrated and well protected single-chip for sensorless field-oriented control FOC brushless motor control.
