The Comparator Subsystem (CMPSS) consists of analog comparators and supporting components that are combined into a topology that is useful for power applications such as peak current mode control, switched-mode power, power factor correction, and voltage trip monitoring. The comparator subsystem is built around a pair of analog comparators and helps detect signal exception conditions, including high and lLow thresholds. The positive input of the comparator is always driven from an external pin, but the negative input can be driven by either an external pin or by an internal programmable 12-bit DAC.
This device contains two variants of the CMPSS module: CMPSS and CMPSS_LITE. See the device technical reference manual for details about which features are supported by each variant.
