9 Power Supply Recommendations

The TPS56C230 is intended to be powered by a well regulated DC voltage. The input voltage range is 4.5 V to 18 V. TPS56C230 is a buck converter. The input supply voltage must be greater than the desired output voltage for proper operation. Input supply current must be appropriate for the desired output current. If the input voltage supply is located far from the TPS56C230 circuit, some additional input bulk capacitance is recommended. Typical values are 100 μF to 470 μF.
