5.1 How do I understand the data range of the CC?

The CC uses 16 bits, but the full 16-bit data range is not used. Full scale data range is ±32000 or ±270 mV. However the recommended range for the CC is ±200 mV. The bit value is approximately 270 mV/32000 = 8.44 µV. Positive values are charge current; negative values are discharge current. Data is 2’s complement, so negative current has the highest bit set.
