12.2 The EVM has a TI controller, can I use my own?

Yes, although the EVM has a TI controller, it can be disconnected from the I2C lines and the BQ769x0 I2C lines connected to your controller. When using your own controller, be sure to remove the connection to the TI controller to avoid bus conflicts. Note that the device version on the EVM is -00 and provides REGOUT at 2.5 V.
