Unsuppressed Load Dump 200 V - Output Clamp

Use the following instructions to verify the overvoltage protection feature of LM74930-Q1.

  1. To test 200 V Unsuppressed Load Dump, the LD200N or similar equipment is needed as the input power supply.
  2. Make sure the J8 jumper setting is set to 2-3.
  3. Set the input supply voltage VIN to 24 V and current limit of 5 A.
  4. Turn ON the power supply and observe start-up of output voltage.
  5. Now apply 200 V Unsuppressed Load Dump using LD200N equipment.
  6. Observe OVCLAMP operation of LM74930-Q1 when input voltage is above OV threshold.
