11.6 Protection Comparator Mux Check

The BQ76972 device implements a periodic check on the input mux for the hardware protection comparator subsystem used for the OV, UV, OCC, OCD1, and OCD2 primary protections. If this check fails, it can trigger a Permanent Fail (PF) and disable the battery pack. This PF can be enabled by setting the Settings:Permanent Failure:Enabled PF C[HWMX] configuration bit.
