5.3.14 Short Circuit in Discharge Latched Permanent Fail

The BQ76972 device integrates a Latched Short Circuit in Discharge (SCDL) Permanent Fail, which can permanently disable the pack if an SCDL protection fault occurs (which indicates multiple Short Circuit in Discharge (SCD) protection faults have detected within a programmable time window). The settings that control the SCDL fault are explained in Section 5.2.6. The SCDL Permanent Fail should only be enabled if the SCDL protection fault is configured to not allow recovery. This PF check is enabled by setting the Settings:Permanent Failure:Enabled PF B[SCDL] and Settings:Manufacturing:Mfg Status Init[PF_EN] configuration bits.
