7.5.3 Reset Operation

The DP83869HM needs external control over RESET_N pin during power up. If RESET_N pin is connected to host controller, then the PHY should be held in reset for a minimum of 200ms after the last supply powers up as shown in . If host controller cannot be Figure 6-1 connected to RESET_N then a 100Ω resistor and 47µF capacitor are required to be connected in series between RESET_N pin and ground as shown in Figure 7-17. During normal operation, the device can be reset by a hardware or software reset.
