TPS542A52EVM-059 Top Circuit (Small Layout Area Design)

The second circuit that will be discussed is the top (upper) circuit on the TPS542A52EVM-059 shown in Figure 2-1. In this circuit, the TPS542A52 converter IC is indicated as U1_2. This circuit has been designed with a minimal layout area for applications where space is limited. The default switching frequency is 1.2 MHz, which allows for the use of smaller output inductance and capacitance. The converter and all associated components fit inside a 17-mm × 14-mm layout area (238 mm2) while still delivering high performance for space-critical applications.
