3.2 Graphical User Interface (GUI) Guidance

The LP586x GUI is a convenient tool to control and evaluate all functions of LP586x family. Open the LP586x.exe file and plug the USB cable into the USB port of the computer. The GUI automatically connects with the LP5861TEVM. Figure 3-1 illustrate the status bar showing the connection status at the bottom of GUI. Hardware Connected shows in the status and the indicator in the USB2ANY stops blinking when successfully connected. Click the connection button to connect or disconnect the LP5861TEVM with the GUI.

If the USB2ANY has been used to evaluate other EVMs and updated by other firmware version (like 2.8.2.0), then the correct firmware version must be updated into USB2ANY. Following the instructions showed in the GUI when plugging in the USB cable can update the FW successfully, see Figure 3-2.

If the USB2ANY has not been previously used to evaluate any EVM before, an unknown version firmware is detected by GUI. When the update firmware notification shows up, 1) Unplugging the USB cable (do not click the UPDATE button); 2) Pressing the BSL button inside USB2ANY, then plug in the USB cable; 3) Clicking UPDATE button, see Figure 3-3.
