3.1.1 Return Address Computation

On 64x targets, a call is a two-instruction sequence: an ADDKPC instruction calculates the return address into B3 using PC-relative addressing, followed by a B (branch) instruction.

On non-64x targets, the address can be computed using other methods such as absolute, PC-relative, or GOT-based addressing (as described in Section 5.2).
