Evaluating Sensorless FOC with MSP Motor Control

To spin a BLDC or PMSM motor with sensorless FOC using the MSPM0, follow these four simple steps:

  1. Order a supported LaunchPad and DRV8xxx EVM. Connect the hardware and motor to the Hardware User's Guide for the specified EVM.
  2. Obtain the motor’s phase resistance (Rs), phase inductance (Ls), number of poles, and maximum speed (RPM).
  3. Launch the specified GUI from the TI Gallery. Specify the motor parameters, enable the driver, spin the motor, and evaluate device features using the MSPM0 MCU.
  4. Evaluate the firmware in Code Composer Studio or on the CCS Cloud IDE.
