5.3.1 Embedded Flash Memory

The embedded Flash memory is a non-volatile memory that is tightly coupled to the C28x CPU. Each CPUSS have its own dedicated flash memory. The Flash memory is not accessible by DMA. The Flash memory is primarily used for CPU instruction access, though data access is also possible. Access to the Flash memory can take multiple CPU cycles depending upon the device frequency and flash wait state configuration. Flash wrapper logic provides prefetch and data cache to improve performance.
