The controlCARD can be completely powered and operated from the USB-C connector. In this stand-alone mode the on-board isolated power supply will provide power to the F280039C device; no additional hardware is required. Optionally, an external 5-V supply can be provided to power the F280039C device. For a detailed explanation of the hardware configuration, see Section 4.3.
When the controlCARD is used in a high-voltage setup, it is the user’s responsibility to confirm that the voltages and isolation requirements are identified and understood prior to energizing the board or simulation. When energized, the controlCARD or components connected to the controlCARD should not be touched. Furthermore, the capacitor C7:A should be removed to minimize the possibility of leakage current flowing across the isolation barrier of the controlCARD.
Configuration 1: Stand-alone
Configuration 2: External 5-V supply
The TMDSCNCD280039C controlCARD automatically switches to the external 5-V supply when present. No additional configuration is required.
