BLE5-Stack Configurations

The TI-Bluetooth LE stack platform supports two different configurations and is supported to run in single device operation as well as in network processor mode. In single device operation the Host and controller as well as the application are running on the Simplelink wireless MCU.

This configuration is cost effective, but limited in memory and performance. CC2340R5 is recommended to implement this configuration. The second possibility is to use the device as companion option with an external processor.

In this configuration only the application running on the external processor which is communicating to a small radio MCU using the HCI runs on a serial interface. For this application the requirements on memory are fairy low and the CC2340R2 can be used.
